Some 4.13 million metrics tonnes (mt) of marine fuel were sold in October compared to 4.01 million mt during the same month in 2017.
October’s total also represents a 0.3% increase on the 4.11 million mt of bunkers sold during September 2018.
Marine fuel oil (MFO) 380 centistoke (cSt) sales dipped below the 3 million mt mark for sixth successive time (in comparison, 3.07 million mt were sold during the same month in 2017).
Some 834,800 mt of MFO 500 cSt were sold during October accounting for 20.2% of all marine fuel sold in the bunker hub port.
Marine gasoil (MGO) and low sulphur MGO (LSMGO) sales rose 22.8% and 7.5% month-on-month (m-o-m) respectively.
The 32,700 mt of low sulphur MFO 180 cSt sales during October were the highest monthly total of 2018.
In total, 43.59 million mt of marine fuel has been sold in the Port of Singapore during the first nine months of 2018. In comparison, at the same stage in 2017, the port had registered 42.01 million mt.
The number of bunker calls at Singapore in August (vessels of 75 GT and above) was 3,340, up 30 on September.
Vessel arrivals at the port (vessels of 75 GT and above) rose month-on-month from 2.3%, from 11,367 to 11,629.
